The division of abdominal and general body imaging in the department of radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville provides imaging expertise in abdominal and pelvic diseases. At the very hub of UF Health Jacksonville and closely intertwined with the majority of medical and surgical sub-specialty departments, the division is involved in diagnosis, treatment and response to treatment of abdominal and pelvic processes. We provide state-of-the-art imaging that includes ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), gastrointestinal and genitourinary radiology and image-guided biopsy. All imaging examinations are interpreted on a state-of-the-art picture archiving communication system (Visage PACS).

Patient Care

As a tertiary referral facility and Level I trauma center, our radiologists provide top-notch subspecialty interpretations leading to accurate diagnosis and quality treatment for patients at all our clinical sites.

Our equipment includes 64 and dual energy 128-slice channel scanners, multiple MRI magnets including an open 1.2 Tesla (T), several 1.5 T and 3.0 T Siemens systems and multiple ultrasound scanners. Gastrointestinal and genitourinary fluoroscopy is digital at all sites. A more comprehensive list of our imaging facilities and equipment can be found here.

At the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, we provide diverse MRI applications, including MR enterography for diagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory bowel disease, multiparametric prostate MRI with US-MRI fusion technology for prostate cancer, high resolution rectal cancer staging, dynamic pelvic floor imaging and MR urography among others.
