The division of musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology in the department of radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville proudly serves a large regional base, including a 695-bed, Level I trauma center and tertiary care teaching hospital, as well as a 168-bed community hospital in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
Patient Care

The division is responsible for the interpretation of a large volume of complex and interesting musculoskeletal cases encompassing trauma, metabolic bone disease, neoplasms, arthritis and sports injuries. Lumbar spine and temporomandibular joint imaging is also within the division’s purview. A team of fellowship-trained radiologists use imaging modalities, such as MRI, dual-energy CT, US and conventional radiographs to provide a tailored imaging regimen to diagnose any MSK aliment. In addition to diagnostic imaging, the division regularly performs arthrography and image-guided steroid injections. Precision-guided injections offer maximum pain relief by delivering medication exactly where it is needed.
The MSK division is fortunate to work closely with our referring clinicians in the fields of orthopaedics, rheumatology, endocrinology and neurology to provide quality care and the highest level of patient safety.
Our goal is to provide physicians with accurate and quality imaging to support a diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to the needs of the patient.
Education
The division is active in the department’s diagnostic radiology residency program. Additionally, the division offers subspecialty training through a one-year musculoskeletal imaging fellowship program.
